The minute we saw our house for the first time, I knew I wanted to give this one a paint job. There’s nothing wrong with red brick (we loved it on our last house), but this little ranch Home just felt tired and dated. It was time for a face lift, and there’s nothing like paint to make a HUGE difference with a relatively little amount of time and money.

At one point, we thought we would tackle the job of exterior painting on our own. But, we found a painter who came highly recommended and gave us a really reasonable quote, and it took us about 3.5 minutes to decide to hand over the reigns on this project. Let me tell you…it was worth every penny! Due to scheduling and lots of rain, we waited several months for him to get started, but then he finished the entire paint job in 2 days!

Let me remind you of what the house looked like “before.”

And now, the long awaited after!

I am still taken aback every time I drive up to the house. It definitely makes a statement on our country street (where most of the homes haven’t been modernized).

The pink door was actually Jeremy’s idea! The salesman at Sherwin Williams looked at me like a crazy person when I told him we wanted a pink door. It’s one of my favorite things about it!

Someday we will plant flower beds, install a new deck and pergola off the side of the house, and add a paver patio and landscaping to the backyard. Yes, someday we will get there. But for now, I am just soaking up how far we have come and what a joy it is to drive up to a little house that makes me so happy!
