Moody Bedroom

We are so excited to reveal the final photos of our personal living room today! We are taking things slowly with the updates at our home, so this is the first space that we can truly mark off as ?complete.?

My excitement for and passion for a well-furnished space has really grown in the last few years, and it was such a joy to be able to put that to good use in a space that we get to enjoy every day.

Classic. Traditional. Collected. Layered. I want this room to stand the test of time, so we focused on adding in architectural details that feel like they could be original to the home and bringing in a mixture of new furnishings, custom pieces, and antiques in rich neutral tones.

We started by adding frame molding to all four walls and then having the room painted Simply White by Benjamin Moore. The crew at Adams Pro Finish did a great job adding recessed lighting to the ceiling and sconces on the back wall.

This is the first room you see when you walk into our house and also the primary living space where we spend a lot of our time. I wanted this room to feel comfortable and relaxing while also investing in beautiful, elegant pieces that will last for years to come. I think we ended with a space that really feels like livable luxury, and we are already loving every moment we spend here.

We are in a stage of life when young children and pets have to be considered in everything we put into our home, so we chose performance fabrics that will stand up to spills and sticky fingers. In the few weeks we have had these sofas, we have already cleaned up grape juice, dirt, and a dog?accident. We are very pleased to say that the performance fabrics are living up to their name.

The custom media unit by Broken Compass Woodworking is truly the showstopper of the space. It is 12 feet long; the scale feels just right. We worked in a lot of beautiful details that bring me so much joy; I particularly love the rich black finish and the way the unlacquered brass hardware pops.

I hope you enjoy scrolling through all of the little details as much as we loved pulling them together!
