Here at Peach and Pine, we are going to be working harder to share updates on current projects so that you can be along for the ride! If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you may have seen us talk about the Hartland Homestead. This is a project we have been working on since last summer, and we are now starting to see the house come back together!
It is a beautiful farmhouse built in the early 1900s on rolling acres out in the country. The homeowners kept the exterior of the house intact (although they are replacing all the siding, building a carport and adding some decorative detail), and a lot of the bones are still there, but pretty much everything else was gutted and adjusted to be made new again. The whole foundation was leveled, major beams were added to be able to open up the living space, the floorplan was tweaked, and a large garage was converted into additional living space. We have enjoyed working with Prestige Remodeling Solutions in the process. They have worked so hard on the structural elements to ensure this house will stand for at least another one hundred years.
Every part of the design process has been so much fun for us. We started with a complete rework of the floorplan. Then we moved on to all the pretty finishes—designing each space to fit the wonderful couple (who have become friends in the process) who will spend their future here! Lighting selections, plumbing fixtures, tile selections, cabinetry plans, wallpaper selections. Then finally to furniture planning and beginning to dream about all the accessories and jewelry of the home.
This home will have a clean, European cottage inspired feel. A perfect blend of bright, open spaces and rich, historic colors and antiques. There are little nooks for reading and quirky rooflines that make for the perfect, cozy spots as well as large, elegant living and kitchen spaces. There are modern furniture pieces as well as lots of nods to the Victorian history of the home.
We are hoping to finish this project in Summer 2021, but, for now, we wanted to give you a sneak peek!
Of course, we can’t spill all of the details. But here are a few pictures of the process and some sneak peeks at a few mood boards and finish selections we have made along the way!

This is the first photo we received of the Hartland Homestead! We knew this was going to be a special project.

One of our early planning meetings—thinking through new kitchen layouts!

The current kitchen view! Picture a beautiful sink under that row of windows, a large range and hood to the left, and a big island to center it all!

The dining room will live right in this corner! With a beautiful antique china cabinet, built-in banquette along the staircase, and beautiful lighting!

Now that the home is being put back together (insulation is being finished now!), we are starting to get excited about all the finishing touches to come.

Thanks for following along! We will continue to share project updates with you for this and other current projects. It’s not the destination…it’s the journey!
