This project began with an unfinished basement in a thoughtfully designed, historic-inspired new construction home. While the main levels of the home were beautifully completed, the homeowners intentionally left the lower level as a future opportunity to expand their living space. Our goal was to transform what might typically feel like a traditional basement into something entirely different—a warm, inviting retreat that feels more like a cozy English countryside cottage than a lower-level addition. The result is an elevated, comfortable space that seamlessly extends the character and charm of the home while providing a welcoming place for everyday living and gathering.
