Peach and Pine Home Holiday Gift Guide for the Homebody

Hey guys! Chandler here. I’m so excited to share our first Holiday Gift Guide of the season. I don’t know what it is about this year, but I’ve had Christmas on the brain a little bit early—I started spinning Christmas records in October. So, needless to say, I’ve had fun pulling together my personal picks for gifts for the lady on your list. These items are all things I either personally love or have personally already added to my own Christmas list. Ranging from $10 to $75, there’s something for everyone.

All of these ideas are great for the girl who loves to be cozy at home, and as a bonus, almost all of these items are ethically sourced—meaning they’re good for the world and good for the people who physically make the items. If you listen to our podcast, you know that I’m really trying to make changes in my buying habits to support causes and companies who make products ethically. So, I’m excited to share some of those here!

Holiday Gift Guide for the Homebody

I love throw blankets. Is there anything cozier than a winter evening on the sofa under a throw? This beautiful blanket comes in black and brown, and it would look beautiful in almost any living room. I love that it is handwoven by artisans. This is something that anyone at any age will use for years and years to come!

I love this banner for several reasons. First of all, it’s only $10 — great for a teacher gift or a friend gift. Secondly, it’s a beautiful reminder for anyone to hang in their office or kitchen or bedroom as reminder of this important truth. Third, this company — Imani Collective — has an amazing mission and story. They are on a “mission to empower women and create life-changing opportunities for artisans in Kenya.” This little sign is handmade by Artisans. And the company is making positive change. You can read more about their story here: https://imanicollective.com/pages/about.

This calendar is on my Christmas list every year. I absolutely love the illustrations, the way it looks hanging in my kitchen, and the way that every month as I turn the page, I reflect on how big the world is and how many beautiful places there are to see! Also, the maps make great art to frame later on.

This is on my Christmas list this year. Not only does it look so cozy and versatile (and comes in two other colors), but I also love the mission of Everlane. They make really quality products at a really great price in ethical factories. I feel great spending my money here, and I love the Everlane items I have.

I can’t for the life of me find any of my house slippers, and my feet are freezing as I type this. I’ve started doing research on some new slippers, and I knew I wanted to support a company with a mission (can you sense a theme here?) so I’ve added these to my Christmas list! Each pair of Freewaters helps transform lives through clean drinking water projects in Kenya, Haiti and the Philippines. Also, they look so cozy and sturdy. I can’t wait to slip my feet into these!

ABLE is another company that you should have on your radar. Here is their mission statement: “ABLE is an ethical fashion brand that employs and empowers women as a solution to end poverty. We’re deeply devoted to quality – both in the products we make and the quality of life we aim to provide. We invest in, train, and educate women so they can earn a living, break the cycle of poverty, and thrive.” I love that, and I love these beautiful, simple earrings. They would pair with so many outfits. The perfect everyday earrings, yet they still feel like something special.

Design is in the details, so I’ve been working on changing over everything that is visible in our kitchen from purely utilitarian to items that are both practical and pretty. How much nicer does a beautiful oil bottle look on the counter than a plastic container with a label? For the homebody who likes to cook, get her something from this line of beautiful containers. There are also utensil crocks, butter dishes, flour canisters, and more!

I love a good cup of English Breakfast or Earl Grey tea with milk and sugar. I like to pretend I’m actually British from time to time, and this Tea Infuser is my favorite I’ve ever used. I love that it sits right inside the mug and makes loose leaf tea so easily. In the spirit of being ethical and eco-friendly, using loose leaf tea saves all the waste of individual tea bags!

Loose Leaf Tea

Pairing that tea infuser above with a beautiful container of loose leaf tea is a great gift for a friend, teacher, boss, etc. Also a great stocking stuffer idea!

Light Reading for Cozy Winter Nights

There’s nothing particularly educational or life changing about this book. It’s a delightful little light hearted romance set in Britain. I really enjoyed it, and the Christmas themes make it the perfect holiday reading by the fire. I love deep, thought provoking books; however, sometimes all I want at the end of the year is to relax and escape into something heartwarming.
