The central kitchen area consists of three spaces that all work together to create a beautiful and functional gathering space for cooking, hosting, and food storage. We combined what used to be a cramped turquoise kitchen, small pantry, musty sunroom, and part of the garage to create these bright and airy spaces.
The dining area is tucked next to the staircase and features a cozy banquette and antique English pine china cabinet. The casual setup is elevated by a traditional statement chandelier. A dutch door leading to the back patio marks the transition from the dining area to the kitchen. We focused on mixed textures, mixed metals, and neutral colors in the kitchen space to create a luxury kitchen with a casual, English cottage inspired feel.
One of our favorite rooms in the house is the pantry – also known as a scullery or dirty kitchen. This secondary space has an additional wall oven, microwave, sink, dishwasher, and loads of storage. We brought in white oak in the cabinetry and a beautiful custom white oak island that feels like it has been around for decades. This room is the perfect spot for the homeowners to bring in vegetables from the garden and brew craft coffee.
