Jeremy and Chandler on the red carpet
Sometimes it strikes me that in this age of social media where we may “see” each other every day we rarely know the other person, or at least we don’t know their story. Although you are clued into what our family has going on right now, a lot of people may not know that Chandler and I actually have a background in the music industry! Sometimes I catch myself on the podcast or on Instagram talking about my work in the music industry, only later to realize that a lot of you might not have a clue what I’m talking about. Well, today I wanted to give you a little background…
Our Background in the Music Industry
Chandler and I met in college at Belmont University. Chandler majored in vocal performance (Belmont is a highly acclaimed music school), and I majored in Audio Engineering Technology. Chandler’s dream was to be a recording artist, and she actually put out a couple of albums for those dedicated enough to find her online (or for those savvy enough to click this link). When Chandler graduated, she continued pursuing her music career on the side while she began working on the business side of the industry at a record label. At the record label, Chandler started out in marketing and eventually moved into radio promotion. Her label worked with artists in the Christian Music Industry including MercyMe, Phil Wickham, Newsboys, Laura Story, Micah Tyler, Citizen Way, Sara Groves, and The Afters.

When I left college, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do. I was working at a great sound company here in Nashville, going on the road with artists, tours, and doing conferences around the country. Eventually, I realized that I wasn’t passionate about the tech side of touring, but I really enjoyed the logistics and the relationship side. Eventually, I decided to make a switch from working primarily in the tech side of things to handling logistics as a tour manager. Thanks to a few friends trusting me and giving me a shot, I was able to being managing artists and tours and gain much-needed experience moving forward. Since transitioning to the tour manager role, I’ve worked with artists including Steven Curtis Chapman, Third Day, Love & The Outcome, The Afters, Jason Gray, Brandon Heath, Mandisa, Anthem Lights, Aaron Shust, Meredith Andrews, Christy Nockels, and others. All in all, I honestly have no idea how many live events I’ve worked in my career – I’d estimate close to 1,000 now, if not more. And I’m still doing some shows while working at Peach and Pine! I’m honored to have worked with some amazingly talented and wonderful people.

So how did we get started in interior design anyway?
Chandler and I bought a house in early 2013. It was in good shape and didn’t really need any serious work done, but it definitely needed some cosmetic updates. Slowly but surely, we began DIY’ing around the house, and Chandler started blogging about our experiences and projects. It was nothing fancy, but it was fun! As the blog started growing a little, some of our friends and Chandler’s coworkers started asking her for decorating help. She started doing a few projects on the side, and this is really where her love for interior design started taking root.

After many long talks and a lot of dreaming, we finally decided to “officially” start Peach and Pine Home in May of 2016. We didn’t really know where it would lead (and still don’t), but we felt like it was the right next step in our lives. Look at these little kiddos, all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready to take on the world –
The Quick Version of the Rest
Just over a year after officially launching Peach and Pine Home, Chandler quit her job at the record label in order to fully pursue interior design full time. I was still touring, and we felt like this was step of faith God was calling us to make. Fast forward 2 more years – I have now joined the Peach and Pine team “officially” full-time. It’s been a whirlwind of a journey – a journey that we still feel very much in the beginning stages of. The Bible says that the Word is a lamp to our feet, and sometimes it feels like we can only see our feet, not where we are headed. We are ok with that and we are excited to see where our feet take us.
