Overview
When we found out we were pregnant in early 2018, one of the things we knew we should change come baby time was our coffee table. We LOVED our old coffee table setup – the Adrianna 2 piece coffee table set (pictures below).
BUT it isn’t exactly kid-friendly because they are pretty hefty and have real glass tops. So with that in mind, we set out to find a coffee table that had style but was also kid-friendly, meaning it could take a beating but was also safe for a child to crawl all over, fall into, etc. We found that in the World Market Acrylic Coffee Table.

Style – 8 of 10
There are a lot of similar coffee tables on the market (click here for a list), and they all look REALLY similar. There are some with differing sizes, but the basics are the basics on this coffee table – a single piece acrylic rounded coffee table. Not much to remark on style here, it pretty much is what it is. But we do think it’s stylish!
Durability – 6 of 10
I think this is the nature of acrylic coffee tables, but the surface does get light scratching on it. They aren’t deep scratches that are super noticeable, it’s more light scratching that you can see if you’re really looking. It honestly doesn’t bother me, but if you’re looking for something that’s going to remain spotless and perfect, this might not be for you.
Apart from that, it is a really durable coffee table! It’s sturdy and feels heavy duty (not heavy, but well-built). We prop our feet up all the time and our baby crawls all over it, and we have no issues whatsoever.
Wear and Tear – 8 of 10
This table does wear well in day to day life. Apart from the light scratching mentioned above, the only thing that is worth noting here is that the table smudges fairly easily – meaning it shows finger prints and stuff like that. That said, it’s super easy to wipe down and clean so it’s really not a big deal, to us at least.
Ease of Cleaning – 10 of 10
Because this coffee table is all one surface, it’s super easy to keep clean. All you have to do it wipe it down and bada bing, bada boom. Clean coffee table. No hidden surfaces or disassembly required.
Kid-Friendliness – 10 of 10
So this is why we went with this style of coffee table – it’s a single piece that can’t be broken or shattered and hurt a child. It’s rounded so if a child falls onto it it’s not going to hurt them with a sharp corner. It’s easy for kids to crawl around and under but sturdy enough that they *probably* won’t try to move it our push it around. It’s a great style of coffee table for littles.
